James Blunt played the Scotiabank Center on 29 November 2008. Place was nearly packed, indicating a stronger following than I thought ... I had tickets won in a charity lottery for the Children's Hospital, I got to see it from the corporate booth. Now ... that sounds like a treat, but for someone used to sitting 30 to 50 feet away, sitting a few hundred feet away was not fun. And to make matters worse, the concert was very dark ... heavy use of spots, little ambient light. But ... all was not lost. I brought both the Fuji F11 and the Canon G10 that I'd bought about 5 hours before and tested them head to head. The Canon was far more fun to shoot, and has a wonderful video mode. Note that Luc Ducet and the White Falcon opened, and they are a darned good band in their own right. Great night, that's for sure.
