Along the south side of the Ottawa River runs the parkway, a scenic drive that runs all the way from the downtown core to the far west end. (There is a similar parkway in the east end that starts with Sussex Drive, home of the Prime Minister and the Gvaernor General.) There are several places to stop and park in order to access the walking and bicycle paths that also run this entire distance. I stopped here one Saturday as the melt was in full swinh and found a bunch of Mallard Ducks and Canada Geese hanging about.

The ducks and gees seem to really love the easy access to the water that this provides. It doesn't hurt that people come along here and feed them either :-)
