Looking across the Ottawa River to Quebec, we can see that the ice is still clinging to both shore lines. The ducks and gees seem to really love the easy access to the water that this provides. It doesn't hurt that people come along here and feed them either :-)

I believe that I read somewhere that Canada Geese mate for life. They certainly appear to travel in pairs.

The one bringing up the rear has now caught up. In shooting lots of geese lately, they always seem to be able to synchronize their wing beats. Amazing to watch.

The geese were in a really squabbly mood today. Maybe they always are. Haven't spent enough time with them to know.

This fellow was spitting nails because he had just been tumbled by another goose. It takes them a while to settle down after a fight.

Why does this remind me of an old married couple who have driven away their dinner guests by too much bickering?
