Album: Ice Flow FowlAlong the south side of the Ottawa River runs the parkway, a scenic drive that runs all the way from the downtown core to the far west end. (There is a similar parkway in the east end that starts with Sussex Drive, home of the Prime Minister and the Gvaernor General.) There are several places to stop and park in order to access the walking and bicycle paths that also run this entire distance. I stopped here one Saturday as the melt was in full swinh and found a bunch of Mallard Ducks and Canada Geese hanging about. Changed: 05/13/2006

The Canada Geese can get extremely territorial. This female Mallard Duck took off like a rocket, knowing her goose was pretty cooked.

Sad remnant of a Canada Goose killed near my office. Third one that I've seen this year, as they try to walk across the street sometimes and drivers seem to sleep on that stretch of road. These wing feathers were blown all over the road long after the goose was removed.
